Northwestern University is turning over the Dawes mansion to the Evanston History Center. Read all about it on the Pioneer Press site.

Mel Birge, one of our members, will be joining me on the history center board of trustees and will be voted on at the annual meeting on June 19. If you are a member of the history center, we encourage you to attend the annual meeting. The meeting will be held at the King Home, 1555 Oak St. Evanston, on June 10th. There will be a reception from 6:30 to 7:00pm, with the meeting to follow. We will be voting on by-law changes. For info on that go to the EHC website.

General Dawes Returns© (GDR) and the Campaign to Save Dawes Mansion is a grass-roots organization of citizens who want to see the EHC remain at the site in perpetuity and be allowed to re-open to the public.
